In addition to getting back into writing, I’ve been spending some time “under the hood” on the blog. Most of the changes are not going to be visible, but they’re long overdue in some cases. As anyone who has read my blog over the years knows, my production level drops off during the summer. This year, my production dropped to zero as my work went “off the charts,” so to speak. It’s not that I didn’t follow the news, and comment on other sites, but even there my appearances were spotty.

Back when I started this blog, my plan was for it to be my “everything but politics” place. I was a regular on Daily Kos and The Albany Project, as well as having invitations to write for several other political blogs. All well and good for my political opinions, but they weren’t appropriate venues for the many other things that interest me. As often happens to me, the “best laid plans” went astray. Which is why this blog became … mostly about politics.
